-”Last year John appeared in New York raising funds for the retarded”
-”220,000 Million of us”
-”Why does America need these damn guns”
Wow, things have changed.

Another cartoonish distortion.
Listen, oh clueless one, the issue is about millions of people, not willing to be enslaved, empowered and willing to defend their precious freedom at any cost.
That wonderful and benign despot and all-time champion mass-murderer Chairman Mao said that “Political power grows from the barrell of a gun”.
Now, why do you suppose that historically, the first act of any would-be despot is to remove the citizen’s access to fire-arms?

No, the right to defend one’s life is held to be an inalienable right inherent upon birth & by definition, not something “granted” as a priviledge or taken away at someone else’s whim; very basic & self evident.
There is much you do not understand about your rights & freedom, Grasshopper.

Thanks Lt, for distorting my comment to better suit your skewed outlook.
Since I need to explain things at a very elementary level here;
there’s no guarantee, of course, however, if someone has invaded your home, it is very likely that they will have malicious intent and be armed. While you may, possibly, be able to survive and/or thwart them without a firearm, your chances, obviously, & statistically, are much better with access to one provided you’ve become familiar in it’s use. Hm?

Haha, so you think if a foreign army invades and the military fails to stop them, you will be Mad Max at Thunderdome and take on the Russians all by your lonesome with your trusty sidearm? Put down the movies man. That’s not even reality.
We’re free because the people are too powerful to be subdued. If a force were one day strong enough to overpower the people, we would be free no longer. And us having guns isn’t exactly empowering us. It’s our numbers and the will of our convictions.

Perhaps that constituitional right should be taken away. It’s not a stone document, you know.

Being without a gun puts you entirely at the mercy of other people? Furthermore, having a gun automatically protects you? I’m pretty sure I’ve seen alot of people in my lifetime who have died while armed.

To not be entirely at the mercy of people with evil and harmful intent; to have the means & chance of defending ourselves, our homes and our families when they are in danger; a most fundamental human right!

Bill Bonds–a Detroit legend, institution, etc. At his best, Bill Bonds could hold his own with any news commentator. He briefly left Detroit to be head anchor in both LA and NYC. But Bill also had/has big problems with alcohol. Shame…really. Bill always came back to Channel 7. But by the end, he became a joke. He aspired to greater things but was his own worst enemy. In today’s world, he would have his own program on cable. This clip gives you a flash of his potential–and the hair.

You are right Dudeman. The right to bear arms is extremely important. In this clip, Bonds was blowing off steam because Lennon’s death was so senseless you can’t even put it into words. There is no denying it-if we could snap our fingers and make all guns away we would…..but we can’t and if we ban guns then only the crooks have them!
